Gary Heim


Agricultural law has been the focus of Gary Heim’s practice during his entire legal career spanning more than 40 years. He provides a broad range of legal services to Pennsylvania’s farm and agri-business community and has counseled thousands of the state’s family farms with the transition of those businesses to the next generation through his statewide practice.

Widely known and highly respected in the agricultural community, Gary has served on the Board of the Agricultural Law Center of The Dickinson School of Law/The Pennsylvania State University. He is a past chairperson of the Agricultural Law Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.

He has been a guest speaker at programs sponsored by the Pennsylvania State University’s College of Agriculture, the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the Cooperative Extension Service, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and many other businesses, banks and organizations. Since 1980, he has provided legal services to members of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau through its Legal Service Plan.

Jake Kiessling


Jake is an attorney in the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group and focuses his real estate practice in the areas of agricultural and commercial real estate transactions.  He represents clients in a variety of real estate matters, including acquisitions of farmland, student housing complexes, apartment complexes, and medical facilities.  Notably, Jake has extensive experience successfully negotiating favorable solar and other alternative energy ground leases and various easements on behalf of landowners across the state.  As an attorney in the Real Estate Practice Group, Jake works closely with title agents within the firm’s title company, South Central Agency, and provides legal assistance in various aspects of the title and settlement process.

In addition to his real estate practice, Jake is a member of the firm’s Agricultural Law, Business Law, and Estates & Trusts Practice Groups and represents clients in a variety of business and estate matters, including formation and planning, sales and acquisitions, and succession matters for both farm and non-farm clients.

Jake joined Mette, Evans & Woodside in 2016 after graduating from the University of Baltimore School of Law.  He is also a 2012 graduate of Lycoming College and a native of the Harrisburg Area.

Jennifer Carl

Title Agent/Paralegal

Jennifer Carl has been a paralegal since 2006 and joined the firm of Mette, Evans & Woodside in 2019.  Jennifer graduated from Harrisburg Area Community College with her Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies in 2006.  She has worked in several areas of law, from basic litigation, personal injury, and criminal law.  She is a licensed title agent and assists attorneys in the Real Estate practice group, as well as the firm’s title company, South Central Agency.

Jennifer Denchak Wetzel


Jennifer Denchak Wetzel is dedicated to serving the legal needs of Pennsylvania’s farm and agri-business community.  For more than fifteen years, she has worked with all types of agricultural businesses across the state, advising them on a broad spectrum of legal issues.

She is recognized for her in-depth knowledge of business succession planning, real estate and asset preservation within the agricultural context.  She routinely assists farm families with the transition of their farms to the next generation.

Jennifer was appointed by Secretary of Agriculture, Russell Redding, to the Advisory Board for the Agricultural Business Development Center.  She is a licensed titled agent and is a Succession Coordinator for the International Farm Transition Network and the Pennsylvania Center for Dairy Excellence.  Previously, she served as the Vice-Chair of the Agricultural Law Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.

Jennifer graduated cum laude from the Pennsylvania State University – Dickinson School of Law and summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Bucknell University.

Jim Goldsmith


Jim Goldsmith is a native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where he has practiced law continuously since 1978. Jim’s practice includes providing legal expertise to professional trade associations, including the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS®, the Greater Philadelphia Association of REALTORS®, the Greater Harrisburg Board of REALTORS® and the Greater Scranton Board of REALTORS®.

Jim has written and lectured extensively on real estate issues and has been involved in drafting the standard forms used throughout the Commonwealth. He has participated in the creation and amendment of much legislation dealing with the regulation of real estate licensees and the industry. For ten years he taught real estate transactions at the Widener University School of Law, Harrisburg Campus. Jim was appointed by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth to serve on a Joint State Government Commission Advisory Committee on Real Property Law.

With his extensive knowledge on real estate matters, Jim is able to use his skills and expertise to assist with any complicated title issues that arise.

Sean P. Delaney


Sean is the Chair of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group and concentrates his practice on real estate acquisition, financing, development, operation, and disposition as well as corporate matters. He represents both domestic and international clients. With nearly 20 years of experience in the field, half spent with an Am Law 100 firm, Sean’s practice includes virtually all aspects of real estate law, acting for owners and developers as well as lenders, investors, private equity funds, and family offices. He provides clients with the benefit of a perspective that considers the broader needs of the client and the impact of the law on those needs.

Sean represents property owners in several aspects of real estate law, including property identification, financing and acquisition, commercial and residential land development, retail and commercial leasing, tax assessment litigation and property disposition. He also assists clients in land use matters including local and state permitting and licensing issues, and stormwater and wastewater permitting. He has experience in multiple segments of the industry, including office, commercial, medical office, hospital, retail, industrial, energy, multifamily housing, student housing, manufacturing, mining, lodging, and mixed-use projects.

Sean also represents lenders, investors, and developers in real estate finance matters of all types, including construction, mezzanine, and permanent financing, equity investments, and in workouts and restructuring of underperforming assets. In addition, he has experience representing clients in connection with business financing, capitalization and management.

Veronica Eskra

Title Agent/Manager

Veronica Eskra has been a paralegal since 1992 and joined the firm of Mette, Evans & Woodside in 2019. Veronica graduated Summa Cum Laude from both The Academy of Medical Arts and Business in 1992 with her Paralegal Certificate, and from Elizabethtown College in 2013 with her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

She is a licensed title agent and assists attorneys in the Real Estate practice group, as well as managing the firm’s title company, South Central Agency. Her diverse background allows her to assist in other practice groups as needed.
